Born and raised in good ol' Kansas City. Think BBQ, Chiefs Kingdom, the place outsiders always assume is in Kansas and never Missouri. I spent 35 years in KC. It was my launching pad and it will always have a place in my heart.
In summer 2019, after 10 years of prayer, I gave away everything I owned and relocated to Arizona (aka HotZona!). The people I've met in Phoenix are some of the best in the U.S. And of course, I could eat tacos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so the Southwest is my calling!
Even when the temperatures reach 117 degrees, I still think this was one of the best decisions I've made in my adult life. I'm planted here and I'm excited for whatever God has next!

While I don't recall the exact moment of inspiration, I began writing a food blog under the name as I was earning my bachelor's in English composition and journalism. In those days, I was daydreaming about becoming an editor. I wanted something catchy in case I ever started my own publishing company. The name was a keeper!
Composition courses refined some techniques to improve professionalism and presentation, but writing was never difficult for me. When taking tests, I always preferred essay questions to multiple choice! My thoughts are best expressed through written words. I believe I have what some call "gifted hands."
Big View Small Window has been a blog many times over with discussions on various topics. I launched this website, to bring all my thoughts together in one place.
I have written a number of novels, short stories, essays, blogs, and journal entries. When I tell people this, I'm most often asked, "Have you published anything?" Well, sure I have. I publish social media posts on a daily basis.
On May 14, 2021, Charismanews.com published my article! This is the first piece of writing I've shared since working for the college newspaper! It was exciting to see the article posted by a prominent minister, have 6.7k+ people interact with the post, and 1.7k+ re-share on one social media platform - and this was all within 24 hours of publication! I guess I still got it, huh?
There's more to come so stay tuned!

I had little to no interest in the affairs of my nation until I cast my first vote in the 2018 mid-term elections. In 2020, I voted in my first presidential election. This blog is dedicated to continuing my (re)education on the tragedy and importance of American politics.
My capacity to understand and care about the issues of foreign nations is steadily increasing. I can't help but notice the waving of the American flag by peaceful protesters who demand government and cultural reform. Every nation wants the same thing (freedom) and all people deserve to be free.
There is no subject quite as fiery as faith and religion. Christianity has been divided into many denominations and sects with competing theological views. This blog is a Bible-based approach to encouraging unity among fellow believers, informing unbelievers, and provoking pious spirits.
Salvation is found in Jesus Christ, the only Son of the Father, who gave His life for the sins of the whole world (John. 3:16). Faith in Him is how we are made right with God (Romans 3:22). To enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again of God's Holy Spirit (John 3:1-8).
I know people practice different faiths and believe in many gods. Some even say everything that exists is the result of a cosmic explosion. We are all free to put our faith in whatever we choose. I choose to put my faith in the God of the Bible as He offers the most hope for all people, all nations, and all generations. I lived in other ways but found the Christian life - the life of a blood-bought, Spirit-filled, child of the Most High - is the best life.
Whether or not you believe in Christ, you are loved by Him!
